Uno, nessuno, centomila - la diversità come risorsa per il giardino mediterraneo, tra opportunità e sfide

Il paesaggio mediterraneo è caratterizzato da un'incredibile varietà di situazioni geologiche, ambientali, micro-climatiche che danno vita ad altrettante innumerevoli realtà paesaggistiche. In ciascuna di queste, le sfide che si pongono nel creare un giardino possono essere ardue, ma altrettanto importanti e sorprendenti possono essere le opportunità. Il ruolo del paesaggista diventa pertanto quello di analizzare e comprendere il paesaggio nella sua complessità, per disegnare giardini che rispecchino il carattere dei luoghi e delle culture locali. Alcuni progetti in Sardegna ed altre regioni italiane, così come in Spagna, mostrano gli esiti di questo approccio.

The Mediterranean landscape is characterized by an incredible variety of geological, environmental and micro-climatic situations which give rise to as many innumerable landscape realities. The challenges to creating a garden can be daunting in each of these, but equally important and surprising can be the opportunities. The role of the garden designer, therefore, becomes that of analyzing and understanding the landscape in its complexity, to design a garden that reflects the character of local places and cultures. Some projects in Sardinia and other Italian regions, as well as in Spain, show the results of this approach.
