The Charterhouse gardens in lockdown
Blog posts and images from the Charterhouse. See links at the bottom of the page. The Charterhouse is the seven-acre historic site in Clerkenwell that houses over 40 older people in its almshouse - a charity that is over 400 years old. The Charterhouse has been closed to the public since March to protective our vulnerable residents (or Brothers as they are known) - and there are strict restrictions in place within the Charterhouse too. While many of the staff are working from home - including the gardening team - some of the Brothers have offered to help keep the garden watered and tidied, which they are enjoying - and it's helping with their mental and physical wellbeing.
