About OmVed Gardens

OmVed Gardens is a greenscape, exhibition and education space in north London regenerating our relationship with the land, with food and with our human and more than human kin - demonstrating the impact a regenerative approach can have in an urban context, but also on our health, society and planet as a whole.

Working with artists, architects, chefs, musicians, horticulturalists or local schools, OmVed Gardens nurtures discussion, reflection and collaboration around the topics of food, creativity and ecological transformation through a varied programme taking place both online and in person at the gardens. OmVed has successfully initiated a number of projects to activate communities around growing, seed saving, composting, preserving and creating with nature, and regularly shares insights into a collective journey to rediscover ourselves within nature.

About Vicky Chown

Vicky was born and raised in London. She had a calling to study nature from a young age and didn't let city living get in the way. She began foraging and growing food and medicine as a teenager in any green space she could find - local parks, wastelands, window boxes and back gardens.

Her passion for herbs led her to work for Neal’s Yard Remedies for 7 years where she developed her knowledge of herbal remedies and natural skin care. This led to studying to become a medical herbalist BSc at Westminster university and teaching foraging and herbal remedy making. She now focuses on the growing and foraging side of plant work. Running organic permaculture gardens where she now grows many of the plants that are used for Handmade Apothecary, as well as food for the Queen's Wood Cafe and Omved Gardens.
