Bristol Chelsea Fringe: Dame Emily Park
Join 'Veg on the Edge' at Dame Emily Community Garden and contribute to sustainable food production. There will be a planting workshop on Saturday 28th May at the garden, where you can bring along any seedlings you’ve planted at home to be grown in the community. Some of what will be grown at the garden will be donated to BS3 Family Food Action Club, while the rest is accessible to all.
As part of the planting event, the garden will host a green, wild poem day. There are going to be performances of poems about thoughts, feelings, memories, animals, objects and hopes for your local park and green space. As one local resident says: ”writing or performing a poem can feel frightening but also absolutely freeing.”
Bristol Food Network is excited to be offering a "satellite hub" in Bristol this year as part of the Chelsea Fringe. A number of Bristol-based gardens will be opening to visitors for the Chelsea Fringe and we’re looking forward to welcoming you! We are all usually part of Bristol’s Get Growing Trail, which this year runs in September.
