Hanging Kokedama Garden at Camley Street Natural Park

Come and explore the wonders of Camley Street Natural Park, a green oasis in the heart of Kings Cross. Originally an industrial site, saved from landfill in 1980's and today a thriving nature reserve and community hub for people & wildlife!

London Wildlife Trust have partnered with Borrowed Light Floral Studio to bring to life an edible hanging garden in the outdoor canopy of the newly opened visitor centre and. Experience the unique and contemporary plant displays whilst enjoying a visit to the recently opened Kingfisher Café on the banks of Regents Canal overlooking the King’s Cross Coal Drops Yard.

Kokedama is a Japanese planting style using moss ‘koke’ to cover a plant’s root ball - ‘dama' meaning 'ball’, the moss acts as a natural plant pot. This is a contemporary alternative to the hanging basket and is ideal for small gardens and balconies.

Borrowed Light Floral Studio was set up in 2018 by Sarah & Claudia in the North East corner of London. Inspired by their local forest, the changing of seasons, urban architecture and artwork, it all influences and feeds back into their work. Developing a sustainable practice being a key aspect of their practice, they favour British & ideally locally grown flowers.
